Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who made her name with innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded into Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came via trumpet. Alongside classical music and jazz, she began studying hip-hop in her teens. In college, she studied writing and women's studies. In addition, she spent an hour studying Mandarin during her time in Beijing. Her focus shifted towards music after she finished her studies. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity via the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef or winking hometown tour the city of New York Bitche$. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in the year 2015, and was a different idea. A musician and author was on her resume she determined to pursue acting in a third project. In addition to early television programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, her breakout roles included Dude Ocean's 8 along with Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June, she launched the EP In Fina We Trust.
